Linking to IRD - Payroll Intermediary

Part of the Company Onboarding process involves us Linking to your Employer Account with the Inland Revenue Department. This allows us to do several things:

  • Electronically File your payroll information each pay period - Pay-Day Filing.
  • Electronically File your Employee information - Employee File Return.
  • Update an Employee's record if we have had to process a negative pay as the IRD Payday filing process does not allow such transactions.
  • Download and action Notifications from the IRD that relate to your employees, such as Child Support Deductions, changes of Tax Codes, and anything else that involves the IRD.

When you come on board, the Owner of the Company myIR Account will get a notification that we wish to Link to them, please agree to this so we can better manage your account. If a Client should leave us (can't imagine why 😭), then we unlink ourselves from your Account as part of our Offboarding.

You must approve this request as quickly as possible otherwise, we are unable to advise the IRD of the following:

  • Details of New Starters, bank accounts, addresses etc
  • Kiwisaver Opt-Out dates. If this information is not transmitted to the IRD, employees may not be opted out in the 56 day period and may not be eligible to Opt-Out.
  • Until the link is approved, the employer is legally responsible for meeting their filing obligations and compliance, this includes any penalties imposed on their account.
