Do we need to pay Public Holidays if someone is on ACC or Parental Leave?

The simple answer is No as neither are deemed to be 'Otherwise Working Days'.

Some employers do allow staff to top up their ACC payments by using Sick Leave (as ACC only pays out 80% of your Normal Wage).

However, if an Employee is on Extended Unpaid Sick Leave, then you do need to cover Public Holidays.
